National 4-H Livestock Skillathon Contest

Youth participants engage in a YQCA program for animal care education.

Entry Requirements

The National 4-H Competitive Events Guidelines and the National 4-H Livestock Skillathon Contest Rules and Regulations require numerous documents and signatures in order for a state's entry to be a completed entry submission for consideration into the Contest.

It is the absolute duty and responsibility of the named Coach and the State 4-H Office submitting the entry to fully read, understand the rules, regulations, guidelines and to complete and verify all the information is correct on the required documents and meets the entry criteria. Failure to do so risks either a 4-H contestant or the entire team's entry from being accepted.

Entry Materials

ENTRY MATERIALS due by October 14th:

1. State entry form with all required signatures, youth and coaches’ information,

2. State 4-H Leader Verification form,

3. Participant Code of Conduct forms,

4. Signed Code of Ethics form, and

5. $600 entry fee

All forms, required materials and check must be sent to Contest Superintendent Rosie Nold. You may email materials (other than a check) to rosemarie.nold@sdstate.edu. Please include a subject line of “National Livestock Skillathon Entry – Your State”.

If checks are used for payment, the check must be sent to: Rosie Nold, South Dakota State University, Berg Ag Hall 147, Box 2207, Brookings, SD 57007 . Sending hard copies of other materials is appreciated but not required.

Failure to submit all entry materials by the deadline shall deem the state’s entry incomplete and thus ineligible to compete in that year’s National 4-H Skillathon Contest.
